This grant will help support a three day camp for young women in a rural northern Andes region of Peru. The camp is being organized by several PCVs, who will identify participants from their communities. The camp addresses the fact that few women in the region are able to complete a high school education.

Through Camp ALMA (Actividades de Liderazgo para Mujeres Adolescentes) young women will have the opportunity to learn leadership skills including those that will promote personal and professional advancement and beneficial health practices. Local institutions, as well as professionals, will be donating their expertise and a variety of materials to ensure the success and sustainability of the camp.

Ms. Embertson, who is a member of the organizing team, is from Roseburg, OR and is a member of WCPCA.
