Description of Project

Espwa Fe Viv, the Haitian Creole phrase for "Hope Makes Life," was a fundraiser organized by Kathy Lynn, a Eugene resident and RPCV Haiti, on behalf of three organizations working in Haiti. The organizations are:

  • HELP, Haitian Education and Leadership Program, which provides merit based scholarships for high school graduates. See http://www.haitianeducation.org.
  • FONKOZE which is Haiti’s alternative bank for the organized poor. It serves more than 55,000 women borrowers, most of whom live and work in the countryside, and more than 175,000 savers.

  • PAZAPA, which supports the treatment, education and development of children with handicaps. See http://www.pazapa.org.

WCPCA Contribution to ProjectWCPCA was one of the cosponsors of the fundraising event in Eugene. It publicized the fundraiser to its members and contributed $100.
